In some countries, drinking tap water is unsafe. You just don’t do it. While in other, countries tap water is clean and sometimes taken foregranted due to its abundance and availability. For travelers, tap is usually a big no. The rule is, when in doubt, don’t drink the tap. But now you don’t have to follow that rule. If you aren’t sure if you can drink tap, the next best thing to do is to purify the water by boiling it for more than a minute.
