… A lead pencil!
Artist Cindy Chinn has made a living out of fashioning pencils into teeny tiny works of art. She works laboriously with a magnifying glass to get the incredible detail in the animals – sometimes she has to hold her breath!
She marks out space on the lead using a magnifying lamp and attaches a trinocular lamp (basically a magnifying lamp used for long distances) for more detail.
